Hotel U Zlatého Stromu Prague by BHG

Pros: We loved everything! It was our first time in Prague, and we were absolutely delighted. If we visit Prague again, we will definitely stay at this hotel. The room was clean, with daily housekeeping. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is located right in the heart of the Old Town — just a one-minute walk to Charles Bridge. The metro is a five-minute walk away. The staff are polite and friendly. I highly recommend it from the bottom of my heart!

Pros: I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The location was very convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, everything met my expectations and I was satisfied with the experience.

Cons: The only downside was the shower head. It seems old and should be replaced, as it affected the comfort of taking a shower.

Pros: Comfortable, welll-appointed room, super central location. The ceilings!! Excellent breakfast. Compared to 2 years ago, when I was last here, the place has improved. There was a multi socket plug and the telly worked. This time I would have scored the establishment a 10, if not for a problem.

Cons: Upon check out you're supposed to pay the city tax, which is 2 euros. Fine and dandy. But they printed a receipt for 10. I asked why and they told me it was a tip. 8 euro tip for what exactly? Checking me in upon arrival? It's a hotel's job. They have no lift either. So, when leaving, I had to drag down my case; at the last step before reception one of the cleaners tried to help. Anyway I've never seen a hotel include a tip in the bill at all and printing it out without warning you first is wrong.

Overall good, but could be better

Pros: The location is really good, placed in the center of the old town. The rooms were clean. We did the check-in earlier that 15:00 because the room was ready. The rooms were also warm and it was an electric heater/AC in the room which was really nice. The minibar was stocked and the rooms were cleaned every day. The breakfast variety is small, the same thing everyday, but its fine for a few days, and to eat anywhere else, you have to wait for them to open up, at least from 9 am, so if you are an early bird, its better to eat here. The coffee is not good, sadly. Overall a good experience.

Cons: The bathroom needs a makeover. The bathtub was stained and the faucet had a leak. The lights in the room were dimmed and not bright enough, you couldn’t see in the closet. The toilet paper was not enough, and were never given more when the room was cleaned. Also on the check-out, on the bill they put automatically the tip, which the receptionist never mentioned. After i looked on the bill and asked what was it, she said that she can remove it if we want. The tip was for every day of the stay, around 100cz each. Maybe it not a huge amount, but I disliked it very much to be automatically charged for something without asking first. A really big disappointment for the hotel staff. The downstairs restaurant is really bad also, the dessert are nor good and the drinks are watered down. The waiters are not nice either.
